Partnership for Action on Road Safety

The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is working alongside AB InBev and its affiliated “CIFAL” training centers worldwide, academic institutions, and private sector partners to promote the achievement of road safety targets through the “Partnership for Action on Road Safety” initiative and the RS:Learn Learning and Partnership Platform.

Together, the partners are taking bold steps towards achieving road safety targets by increasing public awareness of risk factors, building the capacity of government authorities to implement evidence-based approaches, promoting public-private partnerships, and facilitating practical tools, learning resources, methodologies, and solutions.

This initiative is driven by mobilizing public-private sector collaboration to implement local demonstration projects that help cities reduce deaths and injuries caused by traffic crashes. Through these projects, the partners aim to create safer roads and improve the quality of life in communities. The holistic and evidence-based approach focuses on practical solutions tailored to local contexts.

By collaborating with the partners, you contribute to the global effort to improve road safety and advance sustainable development. Together, we can create a safer, more sustainable future for all.

Vision

At their core, the partners envision a world where everyone can travel safely, whether driving, riding as a passenger, or walking as a pedestrian. Their goal is to create a future where crashes and fatalities on the road are drastically reduced, and people can enjoy a greater sense of security and well-being while they travel. Achieving this vision requires a concerted effort from individuals, communities, and governments to prioritize road safety as a fundamental aspect of transportation infrastructure.

Mission

The partners are committed to promoting collaboration between the public and private sectors to implement impactful demonstration projects at the local level. Their mission is to help cities reduce the number of deaths and injuries resulting from road traffic crashes.

Goal

The partners are committed to supporting the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030. They are actively working towards the ambitious goal of reducing road traffic fatalities and injuries by at least 50% by 2030.
