About the RS:Learn Learning and Partnership Platform
About

Road crashes are one of the leading causes of death and injury worldwide, and the need for effective road safety measures has never been more urgent. That’s why the RS:Learn Learning and Partnership Platform was created to provide a comprehensive approach to road safety learning that can be tailored to meet the needs of different countries. The platform provides various learning resources, including e-courses, information about face-to-face events, and case studies covering different road safety aspects. These resources are designed to support the development of road safety programs at the national and local levels and promote continuous learning and improvement.
The RS:Learn Learning and Partnership Platform recognizes the importance of data and evidence-based approaches to road safety. The platform provides tools and resources for data collection, analysis, and reporting to support evidence-based decision-making. This helps countries to identify road safety priorities, measure the impact of interventions, and make informed decisions about resource allocation.
One of the unique features of the RS:Learn platform is its emphasis on partnership and collaboration. The platform brings together stakeholders from various sectors, including government, private sector, civil society, and academic institutions, to work together towards a common goal. By fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, the platform ensures that road safety interventions are evidence-based and effectively implemented.
By working together and sharing knowledge, we can create safer roads and save countless lives.
Objectives
To achieve its goals, the RS: Learn Platform offers several resources, including:
- Knowledge sharing and management materials: access to a wealth of training and learning materials on road safety, including toolkits, learning materials, activities, and services offered by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and partners. A road safety data management methodology is also included to help countries effectively collect, analyze, and interpret road safety data.
- Road safety courses: a series of introductory modules and self-paced e-courses that provide comprehensive information on road safety. These courses are suitable for beginners and experienced learners, and resource guides for advanced learning are also available.
- Country projects: pilot country projects’ assessments, interventions, and learning practices are shared with the global community to showcase successful road safety programs and inspire other countries to adopt evidence-based and effective road safety strategies.
- Online and face-to-face events: information about capacity-building events such as workshops, informative conferences, and other training opportunities related to road safety. By promoting these events, the platform aims to support countries in building their capacity to implement effective road safety interventions and programs.
Overall, the platform serves as a valuable resource for individuals and organizations committed to improving road safety worldwide. It offers a variety of materials and courses that can be accessed globally, as well as country-specific information and case studies to help target interventions effectively.
